The region is famous for its wines, such as Barolo, Barbera, Barbaresco, Freisa, Malvasia, and Nebbiolo. In 2014, the Piedmont wine regions of Langhe, Monferrato, and Roero were added to the UNESCO World Heritage list. Not far from the Relais are the trails leading to the most scenic and world-famous vineyards. The most famous of these wines is undoubtedly Barolo. The village of Barolo is just an hour from the Relais, and its vineyards are a true spectacle of nature. The Barolo and Barbaresco region is a treasure trove of wines, among the finest in Italy.
During the months of October and November, the Alba truffle market is worth a visit. The Alba white truffle is the most exclusive truffle in the world. We recommend this to anyone visiting Piedmont at that time of year. White truffle paired with a glass of Barolo is something everyone should try at least once in their lifetime.
Turin
Turin is a magical, elegant, and beautiful city. It feels like an open-air museum, everywhere you look, there’s a corner waiting to amaze you. Avenues and squares are framed by historic buildings, and the jewel in the crown is the elegant Piazza San Carlo. This square is surrounded by buildings with classical porticoes, and one end of the square is dominated by two beautiful churches, exclusive boutiques, and historic cafés side by side.
Asti
The city is famous for its medieval heritage, visible in the many towers and historic buildings that adorn the historic center. Asti is also home to important cultural events, such as the Palio di Asti, one of the oldest horse races in Italy, and the Festival delle Sagre, which celebrates local gastronomy.
